The Wonderground Manifesto
“He who can no longer pause to wonder and stand rapt in awe, is as good as dead; ... Imagination is more important than knowledge.” –Albert Einstein
The WONDERGROUND grows from an artistic need for the Las Vegas performing arts community to create a life-enhancing expression of magical community and enlightened night-culture.
THE PERFORMANCE SPACE
The WONDERGROUND was created as a place to bring the community of magic and variety together for an extraordinary experience in co-created art and deep play. Each month, we pause, to wonder. We stand rapt in awe inspired by the limitless potential and magic of life. The WONDERGROUND is a portable feast. The physical location may change over the course of time. The WONDERGROUND players adapt to each new environment as needed. Our virtual home is www.vegaswonderground.com.
We are Artists; magicians, variety performers, dancers, painters, sculptors, musicians, Djs, light-artists, multi-media artists and poets. We meet on the third Thursday of each month to celebrate, create and explore together. We utilize our artistic gifts to bring old and new friends together, and to create life-enriching and memorable experiences.
OUR GLOBAL COMMUNITY
Many of us live in Las Vegas, but some guest artists come in from around the world. We invite our friends here in Las Vegas, and from around the world, to join us at the WONDERGROUND, or to be part of the experience from anywhere in the world by watching us online. www.youtube.com/MCBRIDEMAGIC
“Work is love made visible.” -- Khalil Gibran
“Sensible people get paid for playing” -- Alan Watts
In addition to the intangible rewards of artistic expression and fulfillment, we also play for a “F.E.E.” which is “fair energy exchange.” We know that what we put into each night’s experience may enrich our lives in more ways than just financially.
The WONDERGROUND supports and nurtures its artistic community by promoting its artists at our performances, websites, press releases, and social networks.
“A goal is a dream with a deadline.” We encourage all artists in our company to become masters their art, and push their creative edges, experiment, express their inspiration, take artistic risks and most importantly, play. Each month, we encourage new creative expressions to deepen our relationships to our art and each other.
